or visit our FAQs webpage for more info.

1. Comfortable Booking Process

It already starts with your booking process with us. Once you fill in the short Student Tenancy Application form and we confirm that we can accommodate you, we will hold a room for you without requiring any immediate deposit payment.

You can pay your deposit just prior to moving in if you wish. This gives students a peace of mind during the summer:

You know that we hold a room for you after receiving our booking confirmation & information pack, and you can pay your deposit later when it is financially comfortable for you to do so.

You can visit our Booking with Linthorpe Hall webpage for step-by-step preview of our simple booking process.

2. Best Location

Linthorpe Hall is located only 200 metres from Teesside University campus so you can reach your classes easily.

Most private housing in Middlesbrough is much further away from the campus, requiring a much longer walk, or even the use of public transport, eating up your precious time.

Besides being located less than 2 minutes walk from Teesside University campus, Linthorpe Hall also has a multitude of shops, food stores, restaurants and bars within 50 to 100 metres from our main entrance.

Two of Middlesbrough’s student night favourite venues, The Townhouse club and Macy Brown’s cocktail bar are across the road from our halls, 1 minute walk from Linthorpe Hall entrance.

Tesco Express and Iceland foods are both within 50 metres from Linthorpe Hall entrance.

3. Safety and Personal Privacy

Tenant safety is the most important consideration in any student halls. Compared to private housing, most halls have the following security features:

  • You can lock your bedroom door with your unique key

  • Linthorpe Hall is in a safe location of Middlesbrough, only 200 metres from Teesside University campus

  • 24/7 CCTV for the building’s exterior and for its interior communal areas

  • 24/7 On-site Residential Coordinators

  • 24/7 Phone numbers to call in case of an emergency

  • Modern fire alarm system and multiple safe fire exits

  • Comprehensive contents insurance

  • On-site security

Private housing rarely offers any of these features.

In Linthorpe Hall, you are always safe.

Our en-suite bedrooms offer you convenience and privacy, unlike the shared bathrooms of private houses.

4. On-site Maintenance

Linthorpe Hall is also very well looked-after. We have:

  • A cleaner to clean and check the communal area, you will see them most mornings.

  • Onsite Maintenance who will be able to fix most issues on the same day.

  • Private Landlords won't do this. There have been horror stories about bad landlords who take advantage of students living in their houses. From black mould to dodgy household appliances to a draughty bathroom, anything is possible in a private house.

  • With Linthorpe Hall you have the peace of mind that any issues will be looked after by our on-site maintenance.

5. Comfortable Living Environment

Since heating is already fully included in your student halls rent, you can turn on your radiator in the winter and keep your room nice and toasty all day.

So many student houses we hear about have been freezing-cold during the cold seasons of the year because nobody wanted to turn the heating on to save money on the heating bills - it was too expensive!

In Linthorpe Hall, you can keep your room as warm as you like all day at no extra cost.

Similarly to this, you don't have to nag your housemates for using up too much water or forgetting to turn off the lights, as all these bills are already paid for in your all-inclusive rent.

Unlike in a typical student house where people have to take turns using the bathroom, you will have the comfort and privacy of having your en-suite bathroom in Linthorpe Hall just for yourself.

Similarly, most ordinary student housing in Middlesbrough is in traditional old English houses with very unevenly sized rooms, meaning that some of their tenants will inevitably end up in uncomfortably tiny rooms.

At Linthorpe Hall, all of our rooms are the same comfortable size, spacious enough for you to be able to efficiently organise your belongings and to feel like at home in your Linthorpe Hall bedroom.

6. Diversity

We have a huge range of students living here at Linthorpe Hall, a mixture of national & international students, a mix of 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students and also a number of Post Grads.

This means that you can meet people from all walks of university life, giving you a great opportunity to make new friends for life.

7. Accommodation Pricing

University halls are designed specifically for students, and rent payments are reasonably priced and scheduled to fit student lifestyles.

After our 2021 renovations, we changed our pricing to just £70 per week to make our pricing as affordable for students as possible.

Due to the inflation's impact on the cost of utilities, we also had to raise our pricing from December 2022, as have many other providers of affordable student accommodation.

Our new pricing for new bookings from December 2022 starts from £90 per week.

All billshigh-speed broadband (200-300Mbps) and contents insurance are included within your rent.

For this exceptionally affordable price, there are many attractive features of our student halls, compared to private housing:

  • The bills (such as water, gas, electricity, contents insurance, maintenance, etc) in student halls are included in the rent. Private housing often has separate bills that students have to sort on their own (such as council tax, contents insurance, TV licences, etc.).

  • The comfort and privacy of our spacious en-suite rooms, spacious kitchens and an extra-large communal area mean that you can easily have as much privacy or as much socialising as you choose to (unlike in a typical private house where some students get much smaller rooms than others and they all have to share a single bathroom which is of course inconvenient.)

  • Student Halls guarantee a fixed rent price throughout the academic year, so you can predictably adjust your budgeting to exactly how much you'll be paying.
